[Cartoon Feature] Inspiration for Entrepreneurs…

Today I’m super excited to unveil a new feature on my blog and for my subscribers!

Inspirational Cartoons for Entrepreneurs.

I’ve been an artist for a while, playing with different forms of media. These cartoons I’ve been playing with since I was a kid, creating them for family, friends, in college, etc. But, I really delved deeply into how to create them on my computer after getting divorced. They were just a fun, inspiring way to get me into focusing on what’s positive around me.

On the front there’s a fun cartoon. On the back is either something I hope inspires you or an easy action step you can take to help you on your entrepreneurial journey.

Today, it’s all about the personal growth journey that is entrepreneurship.

There’s just nothing else I know that will test your faith, strength, perseverance, resilience and creativity.

And, I know anyone is capable of being a great business person and leader. You just have to believe and act. Over and over again…

entrepreneurial journey back

This one is inspired by my belief that we are so overwhelmed today and we rarely take a few moments to sit quietly and allow new thinking and new ideas in.

I just restarted my meditation practice again (only 5-10 minutes daily) and find it’s amazing at giving my inner focus, clarity and a new level of creativity. Try it! It could be a walking meditation, or just closing your eyes to breathe or clearing your mind to focus on a beautiful flower for a few minutes.

You might be amazed at what happens.

I’d love to know if these help you on your entrepreneurial path, and…

I believe in YOU!

Maritza

P.S. If you have any requests for cartoons that reflect your journey in business, let me know in the comments section…

Love your creativity combined with the powerful messaging. It is such a break through that entrepreneurs and their audiences will surely appreciate. Tapping into one’s amazing talents as you have yours to touch and help others is very inspiring and surely to grow any business to the next level.

This is so beautiful and inspiring. I missed your cartoons. They are wonderful to look at and you always connect them to great messages to enhance our lives. I have 2 framed hanging on my office wall. One is : Trust yourself and the other: Happiness is a choice. I look at them often and they help me make my day better. I’ll be looking out for more.

Oh how cool, Chris! You’ve probably been a subscriber for a long time then! Love knowing they’re on your wall! 😀

Love this cartoon!!! Very timely as I was just thinking about starting a mediation practice. I usually like to go all in and make crazy commitments like an hour a day, but you gave me the green light to start small. Thanks Maritza! I really look forward to more of your cartoons and insight 🙂

    • Maritza Parra on April 3, 2014 at 5:00 pm

lol Jessica! We are so alike! I usually do those kinds of mega-commitments and then just cannot sustain them, so when I first started meditating I learned from someone who said 30 minutes in the morning 30 minutes in the evening. But, who has that kind of time?!?!? So I decided it’s all about quality over quantity and trying different types until you find one that really works for you. I love using art and also silent breathing meditations. Try different things and see what works for you!

Such a great cartoon! This entrepreneurial journey has been such a growth opportunity for sure. The cartoon shows how zen that growth can be. I can’t wait to see what other cartoons you have in store for us!!

    • Maritza Parra on April 3, 2014 at 5:01 pm

Thanks Celest! It’s definitely a personal growth journey with all the hills and valleys, right? I’m loving watching you face your fears and take action anyway… you have so much to give.

  6. Blanche Hayden on April 3, 2014 at 4:14 pm

So cute and I love the message. I didn’t know you were an artist. A woman of many talents indeed! Thanks for sharing this, Maritza!

    • Maritza Parra on April 3, 2014 at 5:03 pm

Thank you Blanche! Hmmm… I probably didn’t have my current vision board up when you were here! Now, I’m keeping these guys all around and sharing them so hopefully they’ll help us all stay focused on the fun and exciting parts of this entrepreneurial journey we’re on!

As a personal growth coach who dove into the entrepreneurial world, I wholeheartedly agree! It’s a whole new level of growth and learning, and has opened up doors that I didn’t even know existed.

Meditation or any silent time you take is the key to reconnecting with yourself. Unplugging from the world allows you to know yourself without the influence of life. Just powerful stuff here.

Great post! Neat cartoon : )

Thanks Paul! Coming from a creative genius like you, I so appreciate your comment! Loving watching your entrepreneurial journey unfold, you’re just at the beginning of something amazing…

Wow, Maritza, I love this! Thank you so much. I’ve had such a hectic day, and sitting down to read your post really made me stop and just relax for a second. I love what you said mid-post: “I know anyone is capable of being a great business person and leader. You just have to believe and act.”

I couldn’t agree more. Thank you for this mid-day break!

Love it! I see these printed and plastered all over my office! You’re inspiration never fails, Maritza. Love it. And this one is so true. You really have to dig deep, explore resistance and create winning environments to make it as an entrepreneur. Nice work! XO

    • Maritza Parra on April 4, 2014 at 3:13 pm

Amber, thank you so much! Knowing how important your environment is to your success this means so much!

I Have to agree with Chris this is both beautiful and inspiring. Your Creativity is undeniable. Thank you for believing in every single person. We Believe in you too! Keep it up!

    • Maritza Parra on April 4, 2014 at 3:14 pm

Thanks so much Justin! I think that’s one of the things many people lack in “real life”, being surrounded by those who believe in them – and I love being a virtual cheerleader!

      • Brad Reed on April 7, 2014 at 12:08 am

You are so right Maritza! We solopreneurs are faced with the challenge of not being surrounded by those who believe in us. It can be very daunting at times, no doubt about it. Thanks for sharing your inspiration and cartoons with us! Your light shines farther than you realize!

I could easily see these as posters or a set of cards you might sell on Etsy or on your own site certainly so people could have a more permanent version of the ones they love best. As someone else said, definitely a woman of many talents :-).

    • Maritza Parra on April 4, 2014 at 3:15 pm

Thanks dear Cheryl! We’re definitely making them in a specific size for printing as inspirational cards later! 😉 Hope you’re doing great! XO

  14. Charlie Poznek on April 6, 2014 at 11:36 pm

Our culture is so visual, that I feel these are a great new way to reach your audience, and inspire others. I’m sure these would be “viral” in an instant. Keep up the great work!

    • Maritza Parra on April 9, 2014 at 1:39 pm

Thanks Charlie! You are so right… think my team needs to get these out on social media – thanks for the wonderful idea!

  15. Anthony Tran on April 7, 2014 at 2:39 pm

Hi Maritza, I really like your creative style of presenting content. You shared some valuable advice here. You’re right entrepreneurship definitely takes patience and it’s always great to slow down and take some time to reflect. I’ve never tried meditation but I’ve heard it works wonders.

    • Maritza Parra on April 9, 2014 at 1:43 pm

Hey Anthony, thanks so much for your thoughtful comment. I actually resisted meditation for a while… until I started having panic attacks. Then, I decided it might be a valuable exercise to try. I am not one of those who can sit on the top of a mountain and meditate for 30 minutes, an hour or more – for me, 5 minutes, 10 minutes of sitting and focusing on my breath is enough.

Or, walking in nature and actually noticing and appreciating flowers, leaves, birds, etc –

Or running and counting my steps works for me too

Just a way to stop the constant conversation in our minds so we can create the space to let something new in! If you try it, let me know what happens.

Maritza, love the message and love the art! There’s something powerful about a cartoon to draw a person’s attention in and hold it while a message is conveyed. Maybe it taps the kid in us that still loves cartoon images. Whatever it is, it’s awesome!

    • Maritza Parra on April 10, 2014 at 9:35 am

Thanks Brad! I think you may be right, the messages in this form allow us to have fun, and hopefully “get them” in a different way!
