Anthony Tran Inspires You to “Burn the Boats” & Jump Into Entrepreneurship

Anthony Tran of Marketing Access Pass In this episode, I got to interview a great guy and super smart entrepreneur Anthony Tran of Marketing Access Pass. Anthony decided to start his own business when he found himself working 60+ hour weeks, and family time dwindling. He did something very courageous that very few people do, although many think about doing it.

He spoke to his wife, and they both decided he would give his two weeks notice, burn the boats and jump all into online entrepreneurship. (Now THAT’s an amazing spouse!)

I loved interviewing Anthony because in addition to being an all around nice person, he also reminded me of several things we all need to remember.

1. The power of personal rituals.

Anthony takes a walk every morning for some quiet time. during his walk, he reflects on the past / present/ future, he celebrates the wins and he listens to himself.

2. Adjust and be flexible.

You may start your business thinking you know the exact focus. Be open to zig zagging your way to success. Be open to shifting your course. With online entrepreneurship, it’s easy to shift quickly and turn on a dime.

3. Listen, listen, listen.

This theme continues on from the last episode of the Easy Online Marketing podcast. Anthony listened to his audience and to what exactly they said they wanted and needed from him.

4. Tap into the power of hashtags.

I learned this tidbit from Anthony a while ago and it’s a fabulous tip for maximizing how far your message can go. By using hashtags for specific subjects that people are searching for, you can help your prospects find you. Some of the resources Anthony mentioned are:

Anthony Tran is the real deal! Maritza, thanks for this inspiring interview with Anthony. When it comes to burning the boats and taking action, he represents it perfectly.

great commentary on getting going. The biggest fallacy about entrepreneurship is a lack of security but if you have a plan like this in place you actually are more secure.

Lack of security is the reality anywhere nowadays, in corporate and in entrepreneurship. The only security is your hustle, heart and resilience. Anthony has those in abundance!

Wow, what an inspiring story and great actionable advice for any entrepreneur! It’s important to remember it is a marathon but the little consistent things we do each day will impact the enjoyment of the journey and our condition at the finish line.

I particularly like the idea of being flexible and listening, which are highly correlated. Listening to your customer being very important. Simultaneously, many customers don’t know what they want, particularly when it comes to ‘new’ tech, in particular, until they experience it. You need to draw out a story so they ‘experience, it through imagination before they buy. Gets back to how stories are so important. Also, need and want are sometimes very different and many folks won’t buy what they need.

So inspiring listening to Anthony and timely too as I’m working to establish my own personal rituals…feels hard at the start then becomes my anchor for going through every day with a clearer brain…and gives me the space to grow my business. Great one, Martiza!

Great topic! I love the fact that Anthony made that leap and went into the online business. And his personal rituals are what I think made him what he is now. We all need time to think, rest and energize and I also like that Anthony has an open mind and wiling to listen and adjust to new things.

Maritza you are one of the leaders and teacher. You seem to know what I am looking for in content an today’s podcast proved that out. Wasn’t you that say on a podcast that you can mediate for 3 – 4 minutes at a time? I seem to remember something like that. Elton John did a song it was never a hit but i loved when i was in my early twenties called Teacher I Need You.
