Hi Maritza,
I too love animals and my dog is my best friend. I can see your love and caring mom to Menudo. He is so cute. I have a 10 year old too and she is sweet as sugar with a sprained foot possibly chasing the rabbits–her favorite job she believes when outside during daytime.

Kisses to Menudo from my dog Molly and myself! Give yourself a big hug from all of us as a great mom to your doggie, horses and whatever I missed here.

Aww…Maritza – he’s adorable and so sweet. It’s so wonderful to have your heart open to the joy, wonder and unconditional love that animals can give us and teach us! My big dog just had a medical emergency with his back leg, too – he’s been crippled for a long time (arthritis, hip dysplasia) and he popped a piece of bone off of it the other day. It was so hard to see him suffering, but, he is as good as gold now. Gave him some meds and some healing time (no stairs, etc) and he’s doing great! He only uses that leg for balance – it can’t hold any weight.

I wish I still lived in Texas (I’m from Dallas) I’d come down and visit you – I know we’d get along FABulously, with our love of creatures big and small! (I love horses, too!)

It was awesome, though, meeting you at NAMS2!

Maritza: Thank you so much for sharing the experience with your wonderful puppy Menudo. He is beautiful and he has such a kind expression in his eyes. I am sure he has the heart to get over “a little inconvenience” and create with your help and that of your family a whole new lifestyle as happy and rewarding as the previous one.
I see that the great lessons that you share with all of us are a real part of your daily life.

I can so relate. I have two canine companions, who have also been with me through many life times. Mackie is 13, and my “Grandpa”. He’s a cool grumpy, old fart, who has loved me and stood by me unconditionally. Spencer is 8, both schnauzers.
I always say about my boys, I wish I had there life!

Thank you for sharing your experience and lessons. I hope someday to meet him, and see him “rockit on 3″.
