What do I mean by “embracing the ‘F’ word?

Nelson Mandela got me thinking because he modeled something so incredibly important that we all have a really hard time doing sometimes…

Maritza … Thank you for this tribute to Mr. Mandela.

When I think of the Great Ones who passed this way during the 20th and 21st Centuries, I associate Nelson Mandela’s name with the virtue of Forgiveness. This morning I posted a short Facebook statement of my respect and admiration for Mr. Mandela:

“A great man walked among us. He transformed himself into an icon of Peace, Forgiveness and Leadership. Among his great achievements is the example he “lived” before us: A peace-loving “Servant” of his country and all humanity. Mr. Mandela, Shalom! Shalom!”

After watching your video, I would add that Mr. Mandela’s ability and willingness to Forgive enabled him to transform his Life and his Country. May we hold the memory of his Forgiveness in our hearts and find ways to emulate that virtue. Shalom!

Love what you wrote about him Sheila! VERY beautiful! Can you imagine if more politicians were like Nelson Mandela?
      Shalom & hugs!

Maritza, You are so right. Being able to forgive even those that harmed him the most is one of the reasons why he was such an example for the world of how to build permanent and long lasting bridges. I’ll always remember the kind expression in his eyes and his wide, open smile.
What a life lesson to follow. Thank you for the inspiring video.

Rita, love that – build bridges… we could all use more of those.
