Turn Your Mess into Someone Else’s Miracle – Tara Reed of PivotToHappy.com Through Alzheimer’s & Dementia

Tara Reed Azlheimers and dementa Caregiver expertIn this episode, Tara Reed of PivotToHappy.com talks about turning a painful life event into a business that supports other people going through the same thing.

When her family realized her father has Alzheimer’s Disease, Tara went into “research mode” to help her family cope – and eventually thrive. She is a natural researcher and organizer, quickly becoming an expert in how to support Caregiver’s who have a loved one going through the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Journey.

Tara Reed Alzheimer's and DementiaShe wrote and published a book resource “What to Do Between the Tears: A Practical Guide to Dealing with Dementia or Alzheimer’s Diagnosis in the Family” that has received acclaim by Caregivers. Interestingly, she found her book being used as a resource in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Groups.

An Underserved Community.

What Tara didn’t realize when she began this journey was the sheer numbers of Caregivers on this journey.

Every 66 seconds, someone in the US develops Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia and for every person with Alzheimer’s, it is estimated that 1-4 family members are involved in their care.

Most of these people feel isolated and unsupported. What Tara was clear about is that she wanted to create a NEW way of supporting Caregivers through this time. This is not your typical “raise awareness” and fundraising for a cure site. This is about giving real resources and support to a very underserved segment of our population. And one that, until a cure is found, will continue to grow.

Tara created a business to support Caregiver through the emotional upheaval into finding balance and control through a difficult time. Her offerings include coaching, online events and workshops, creativity-inspired offerings, Self-Care information and ways to connect for the Caregiver.

In addition to sharing her journey to turning a painful life event into a blessing for other Caregivers, in the episode Tara also shares her top tips for people who want to turn expertise learned through experience into a business.

It’s so hard to see your parent fade away and lost in the world of dementia. This is such a noble cause and so special. What Tara created is amazing! She did turn a messy stressful thing into a miracle. So very inspiring…. Thank you for sharing this article and Tara with us!
