Practical Advice, Tips & Inspiration to Help You Create Money-Making Products That Pay You Forever....

I found a beautiful video I wanted to share. What I love about this is the creativity and passion this woman has and the joy she creates for others when she’s in the “flow”…

Hope you like it!

I found this amazing woman on twitter yesterday… Someone tweeted about her and I followed and found a Grandmother with Attitude… Ruth Flowers.

She didn’t think her life was over at a certain age, she didn’t accept the limitations placed on her by other people, she’s grabbed life by the horns and is doing exactly what she wants…

The following is from Ruth’s website MamyRock.com

Ruth Flowers, 69-year-old, is the matriarch and the hippest English deejay of our time.

I have had a very lively youth, I used to go to balls all the time, I loved to dance, but then came the old age, pension, but above all boredom… I started looking for something more… One night, my grandson, of whom I’m very close to, celebrated his birthday in a nightclub in London. And he told me that I could join them. When I arrived, the bouncers didn’t let me go inside. It is true that I didn’t really match their usual clients (laughs)… I finely managed to entered… and I was dumbfound…there was such an atmosphere!!! It was so different from the parties I used to go when I was young. There was a real osmosis between the lights and the music, it really drove me!… It made me feel so much younger!

This night shattered my view of things but above all the way I saw my life…I had a lot of free time, I was on pension you know… I talked to my grandson about it, he thought I went mad. Now I think that I am ready to make everybody move their a** on the dancefloor (laughs).

“Indeed, I’d rather sign a contract with a record company than to sign up for the nursing home…” – Ruth Flowers

So my questions to you are… What limitations have been placed on you by other people that you can break? What will you do today to live the life you want?

I’m grouchy.

A couple of weeks ago, I attended a Mastermind meeting with some incredibly successful entrepreneurs making millions a year… The very last person who shared told us all a very different story. Instead of focusing on ONE business and becoming successful at that, he had been trying to branch out to 5 different business niches over tha past couple of years. It was no surprise that he was making absolutely no money.

In fact, he was in a really bad place.

We all gave him tons of advice and asked him to please email us with what he promised he was going to do with the advice. (Million-Dollar advice from all of us, I might add)

We haven’t heard from him.

These are my thoughts about chasing too many businesses at once. Jeff filmed this at our Beach House on the balcony, so it’s pretty darn loud (and actually inspired me to begin using the Kodak Zi8 with a lavolier mic – which works incredibly – so please excuse the windy-ness)

We were just talking about this and it made me so angry and sad and so Jeff said “Let me just tape you on your rant…”

I suggested he begin with ONE niche, one way to add value, one product… ONE and then use Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Ezine Articles (They’re all FREE!!!)  to drive traffic to the site wherever his optin page (and offer) are… AND to stop thinking it will be INSTANT. Everyone thinks you can just slap up a page with an offer and (theme music to “Field of Dreams”) they will come… and if they come… they will buy…

Not so much.

They probably won’t buy at first, so you must Look at what’s really happening (Google Analytics can help you with that), see where the breakdown is happening & TEST.

* Are they coming to your site and not signing up? Change the optin offer to a more compelling & juicy one.

* Are they not buying, once they’re in your list community? Talk more about the benefits… Really do your homework on this one. Find some case studies so people can see the results.

* Are you doing any live online events so people can get to know you? Use a free teleseminar line or try the free trial of a webinar service (and be sure to press “record” to have something you can use over and over…) and do your presentation over and over until you nail it.

* Play the theme song to Rocky (or whatever moves you) to get pumped up each morning and keep moving forward with focus and faith.

Have you had failures…?

C’MON… it’s time to get over it and do whatever it takes to move forward. We all have. The most successful people have also had the most failures.

During that Mastermind, I got out of my chair several times, my arms swinging wildly, my voice getting louder trying to get him to see that he’s been chasing too many things at once… no wonder he’s not getting ANYWHERE.

Your past failures (and even your wild successes!) do NOT define you. The only thing that defines you is what you choose to do NOW.

  1. Schedule a free live event on your topic

  2. Invite people to your event, record the entire thing, hand out feedback forms to get testimonials for future use and to improve your training.

  3. Become a “Recovering Perfectionist”

  4. If you try to have the perfect conditions, perfect time, perfect budget, perfect anything you will most likely never create a product. Perfect never comes. When you begin to engage in perfectionism, think of a painter. A painter never gets to “perfect” because it’s all relative. Learn to drop the paintbrush or you could just keep painting forever.

  5. Use lost opportunities to move you to action

  6. We’ve all had the experience of seeing a product or service we thought of but didn’t take action on. Use the hidden costs of that lost opportunity and use the loss to move into action now.

  7. Turn your tragedy into someone else’s triumph

  8. What failures have you overcome? How can your experience help other people? Share what you did to help other people avoid or recover from the same thing.

  9. Recruit your best friend

  10. Ask your best friend to interview you to get your valuable information out of your head. It’s always easier to share information with a real person rather than do a monologue. If no one’s available, paste a photo of your friend on your monitor, begin recording and pretend you’re explaining the information to him/her.

  11. Announce it

  12. Announce when your product will be ready. Ask customers what they’d like it to include. If you don’t have customers and clients yet, announce your intention to someone you care about to help keep you accountable.

  13. Interview people

  14. Find experts you’d like to learn from and ask them for an interview. Make sure you clearly communicate the purpose of the interview and let them know how it can benefit them. Just ask… the worst that can happen is a “No” and if that occurs just move on.

Your Article Resource Box – The Secret to Getting the Most Traffic From Each and Every Article

Article Marketing is the number one source of free traffic on the Internet if you get your Resource Box right. Get this one wrong and you have wasted all your time. Get this one right and you have got it made!

What a Resource Box really is

Call it a Resource Box, Author Bio, etc., what it really is is your opportunity to create a compelling call to action for your reader. Even though it is called an Author Bio, it is not the time for you to tell the reader all about you and convince them you are an expert. In fact, if you have not demonstrated that you are an expert in your article, it is way to late to try to do it now.

Even though it is an official Call to Action, I like to teach my students and members to use what I call “invitational language” in their Resource Box. Invitational language can be something as simple as “and now I would like to invite you to…” and then name the next action you would like them to take. This is as opposed to something like “get this great new product now and all your problems will be solved by morning and if you don’t you will be broke forever!”

Sure I’ve exaggerated a bit, but not by much.

Here’s how to do it

Jeff & I are speaking all weekend at the Niche Affiliate Marketing seminar in Atlanta, GA this weekend,

Tomorrow, I’ll be showing people how to do videos from scratch to build a tv show!

If you want to purchase the mp3 audio from this morning’s panel discussion, it is available for Instant Download here

Here are a couple of videos of the events so far… a panel discussion about social media:

Jeff talking about traffic:

Are you in Email Overload? You know what I mean… spending a couple of hours a day wading through your inbox, trying to get through to the important emails and finding yourself going down all kinds of “rabbit holes”, finding time ticking away that should have been focused on other things, like product creation, answering student questions and spending quality time with family?
After coming back from the holidays, my first two weeks of 2010 were spent feeling like this so I decided to conduct…

The Email Overload Experiment

Let me know what you think and if this inspires you to outsource your inbox to a fabulous VA or just to get radical and stop the reactivity! So you can focus on growng your business, taking care of yourself and your family!

With this experiment, I want to see how it feels to stay completely away from email, one of my VAs Verna will be adding to our “virtual office space” the things I should look at while she responds to and sets up interview requests, guides students to the forums in Membership areas where I’ll be 3 times a week to answer their specific questions and I communicate with people just via social media marketing tools like Twitter and Facebook… It was scary to give up this much control, but I think I’ve gained several hours a day to create more products and be able to think!

Social Media and Social Marketing really is a new frontier on the Internet. There are so many ways you can use the major sites like Facebook, YouTube, EzineArticles, your blog, and Twitter. You are only limited to your imagination and creativity.

I continue to get a kick out of the people who say that Social Marketing is just a waste of time on the Internet. Didn’t someone once say that they could only see the need for a handful of desktop computers? We all know how that one turned out, right?

The power of the testimonial

If you want to sell a product or service, we all know that you have just got to have testimonials, right? Testimonials elicit the power of social proof. In other words, You could say your product is great, and some might believe that to be true. But many would remain skeptical, thinking that of course it is easy to say your product is great.

But when other people say your product or service is great, those statements become much more believable. Social proof is one of the most powerful forces in advertising. Why else would they put other people in ads? Especially famous people who have nothing at all to do with the product. This is the power of social proof.

Social Proof Meets Social Marketing

Now let’s take a closer look at the combination of social proof and social marketing on Twitter. For the rest of the article, click here…

Twitter is one of the best Social Marketing tools to use to build your traffic. When done right you can literally send lots of traffic wherever you want it to go.

One of the best places to invite your Twitter followers is to an opt-in page where they can get more great information from you in exchange for their email address. In this article we’re going to take a closer look at how to invite your followers to your opt-in page.

How to Do It Wrong

* The best way to guarantee that no one will visit your opt-in page from Twitter is to burst on the scene and begin hammering people to opt-in to something before you have established and built any kind of relationship at all. This is the fast road to being ignored and unfollowed on Twitter.

* Another way to do it wrong is to only extend an invitation every now and then. Twitter is a constantly moving environment and if you extend invitations only infrequently, many people will miss them and your message.

* And yet a third way to do it wrong is to leave out the benefits the prospect will get when they opt-in. These are the invitations that look like this “Go to MyGreatWidget.com to get my great widget.” I can hardly wait to get there…
