30 Days of LOA – Are you scared of asking for the sale? 3 tips to start selling now.

scared of asking for the sale? Sometimes when people start their online business, they find that one of the biggest obstacles to making sales is actually asking for the sale. I recently got another great listener question from Samantha…Hi Maritza, I’ve been following you for a while and I want to know some ways I can get over my fear of asking for money, actually asking for the sale. I know my stuff is good but I’m scared to actually try to sell. Can you help me?”

I’ve been asking for the sale in different businesses since I was a teenager. My first “yes” was when I sold my very first horse show. Since then, I’ve sold bath and beauty products, Law of Attraction products and information, downloadable and physical information products and my group coaching and individual coaching programs.

Here are 3 tips that will help you get more courageous when you ask for the sale.

Tip 1 – (Tweet This:) Realize it’s not a #service to your client if you’re not asking for the #sale or you’re undercharging.

Tip 2 – Practice. Yes, if you’re scared to ask for the sale then the best way to get over it is to do it. Use visualization, role playing, whatever it takes for you to feel, and say what you need to communicate when selling your products and services.

Think carefully about all the benefits your clients and customers in the past have gained from working with you. If you’re just starting out, think carefully about what your products, services, information could do for them. And then when you do get those customers, give it your all!

Tip 3 – Put some emotion into it. Why are you in business? No, really… the REAL why.

No cop out answers. Feel the feelings about why you’re in the specific business you’re in…

  • freedom to express yourself by shining your unique light in the world
  • schedule flexibility and freedom
  • the ability to make more money than you could in a job (it’s only going to happen when you find the courage to sell.)
  •  Send your child to college
  • care for your elderly parents
  • save for retirement?

    This is an issue that I deal with every so often. I am successful, I know the value of my products and still sometimes I get this “asking for the money fear attack” You give me very good reasons to remember that my main goal is helping my clients.
