30 Days of LOA – 8 Ways Entrepreneurs Disempower Themselves (& What to Do Instead)

empower entrepreneurs

There are more than 8 ways online business owners disempower themselves. In addition to giving you the 8 ways, I also share 8 ways to re-empower yourself as an entrepreneur.

  1. Playing down / taking your gifts for granted – “oh, it was easy / effortless” this is the same thing that happens when you get a compliment and you I give you permission to accept compliments instead of defecting them – a compliment is a gift – don’t throw it back in their face – don’t feel like you have to give a compliment in return, gracefully accept it.
  2. Procrastination
  3. Undervaluing yourself – giving everything away – allowing people to “pick your brains” over coffee
  4. continually jumping from idea to idea without completing any of them well
  5. Being overwhelmed by chronic negative inner chatter – see episode 35 for help with this – this includes being a worry wart – focusing on the worst case scenario
  6. Focusing on your weakenesses instead of your strengths
  7. Worrying and agonizing over every decision (analysis paralysis)
  8. Not asking for the sale / being comfortable with receiving money in exchange for your value

It’s time to really empower yourself as an entrepreneur.

It’s not always the easiest path and I hope this podcast series has helped you refocus on empowering yourself. IF you’ve enjoyed this series, I would love and appreciate you subscribing to the podcast so you don’t miss future episodes and giving me a rating and review.

Here are my top 8 tips for empowering yourself in the next 12 months:

  1. Make building your list a focus in your business. Don’t just say “oh, it’s not going so well” – if that’s the case, then do something else! For example, if you’re just using blogging and social media, do a webinar, do content upgrades like you see all over my show notes and blog posts, ask your existing subscribers for questions and then answer them in your content – engage them and then ask them to recommend you to anyone they know who wants your expertise, get offline and start building your list offline, think differently and do more.
  2. Be aware of your negative self-talk and shift it to the positive – see episode 35 for help here
  3. Take inspired action – when you feel the inspiration to do something – take action.
  4. Value yourself and ask for the sale.
  5. Accept and celebrate compliments and praise – own it! you rock!
  6. Focus on your strengths and outsource your weaknesses
  7. Make offers often
  8. Get comfortable being uncomfortable! (Tweet this🙂

And on the next episode of the Easy Online Marketing podcast, I’m going to answer a subscriber question about how to make your very first sale when you have a very small list.

Oh, I am definitely guilty of practicing many of the 8 disempowering actions. Having too many ideas and not focusing on one at a time is a big challenge for me. I need to work on focusing on one thing at a time – actually taking action on it – before moving on to the next thing. Thanks for sharing your insights, Maritza.
