30 Days of LOA – Tap into the Power of Diamond Deadlines in Your Online Business

create your product fast and get paid first Would you like to create your product fast and get paid first?Sounds great, doesn’t it?Well, it’s not only possible but the fact is a lot of online business work that way right now.

In this episode, I bring you the method I’ve used to launch a lot of my products and programs, from the horse DVDs, to riding clinics, to group coaching programs… pretty much anything I’ve done I’ve used a method I developed and that I’ve taught other entrepreneurs and held them accountable to complete in my coaching programs – it’s called “Diamond Deadlines” and bottom line – it works.

The reason this method is so effective is that you get paid first. When that happens you have absolutely no choice but to make your product a reality.

You are forced to let go of fear, procrastination, issues with the “impostor syndrome” and all that other junk when you used Diamond Deadlines to get paid to create your product.

Most people want all conditions to be perfect before they launch their product, or they spend a TON of time on the product and then when they sell it, sell none or very few.

Here are the 6 steps for setting and completing your information products using Diamond Deadlines:

  1. Survey your list, past clients, ideal prospects. find out exactly what they want from you. Very few people taking your survey? no worries, get on the phone instead and find out what your ideal prospect wants from you.
  2. Set a specific date for your event – a teleseminar, a webinar, a meetup. Let people know about it so they can register.
  3. Set up your method of accepting payments. Paypal works just fine, or you can go fancy like me with a merchant account and a payment gateway. If those words are making your eyes glaze over, use paypal.
  4. Hold your online event – I promise if it’s your first time selling your own product. You will be breaking out in a cold sweat right before you go live thinking “I’m not ready” – at that moment, close your eyes, breathe deeply, trust yourself and trust the universe.
  5. Make a clear unhurried offer – during the event, give some great content and then make your offer. Don’t make it the 5 second offer that shows how embarrassed you are, that will ensure you make no sales. Be proud of yourself as you make the offer. Be unattached to the outcome – I call this “Zen Selling” – it’s when you come from a place knowing that you and your product are enough, and you don’t come from the energy of need but from the energy of abundance, clarity and confidence. When you come from this unattached to the outcome selling, it’s so counter-intuitive – you attract instead of repel. And when you sell during that event, THAT is when you’ve set your ultimate Diamond Deadline. Because now that you’ve received money for your product, you MUST deliver.Money is the medium of exchange of value, so your integrity will ensure you do whatever it takes to deliver that value promised (and hopefully more!)
  6. When people buy your product or service: make sure you have a CLEAR TIMELINE of when they will receive what was promised. For the horse DVDs – I let them know upfront that it would take 9 – 12 weeks for them to receive the DVDs. Other times, I have had a group coaching course schedule with very specific information on dates / times / what will be covered during each module, what they can expect, etc – in this case, giving some pre-work so they can dig into something immediately is a great thing to do.

The most important thing to remember when setting your Diamond Deadline to complete your product is to honor your self-promises. It may feel uncomfortable at the time, just like the pressure put on a piece of coal, but the reward is a product that can duplicate your efforts and pay you over and over again.

That is certainly the path I’ve taken before and I can say it is not for the faint of heart! However, when you just do it you can get it done and have it to improve upon in the future, as opposed to still talking about doing it. “Diamond deadlines” is the best image, too! Another winner, girlie!

This is so opposite of what I want to do, ha ha! But it’s exactly what I see I should do! So, thanks for the kick in the butt. Rock solid advice, can’t wait to try it out! Thanks for posting this 😉

The days of “Build it and they will come” are over! This is such a great strategy to sell products and services before you launch to get proof of concept and it will give you a “Diamond Deadline” to really motivate you to execute on your ideas. Awesome stuff Maritza!

Love the quote “Goals are dreams with deadlines.” A short episode, worth listening to. I have put myself under a lot of pressure to get things done this year and the affect is huge. Does create rather a loot of stress though.
