It’s a Boy! Hope Springs Eternal…

Last night, Esperanza, one of my mares (whose name just happens to mean Hope in Spanish), gave birth to a foal… a beautiful boy! I think it’s a great way to illustrate the process of “giving birth to your dreams”

When you follow you heart and take action towards creating the life you really want, there are periods of expansion (when it feels like nothing can go wrong & you’re in the “flow”)…

Then there are periods of contraction, when things feel more difficult, some fear and doubt can set it…

but it’s important to note that when a miracle is being borne, both processes are important for the birth of the dream (or in this case – the foal) to occur!

More videos soon when the little guy is testing out his new legs & he isn’t so darn sleepy… he did have quite a journey last night so I thought it was best to let him laze around…

Let me know by commenting below if this video resonated with you… and if you have a boy name suggestion for me here at the Hacienda!

Love, Maritza (Esperanza & baby)

OMG… that is just too COOL. What a great gift to be witness to. Gee, I don’t know, just off the top of my head, call him Carlito, he seems to be laying down on the job ; )

Ok, maybe Picasso, cause he’s such a work of art.

  2. Maritza on June 2, 2009 at 5:18 pm

Carlos! LOL or should I say Ja, Ja, Ja! I can’t wait to post video of him running around on unstable spindly legs!

Whatchyoutalkin about laying down on the job?!? You’re an amazing artist with TONS behind you & ahead – don’t forget you have a call with me still for Ebook class – look forward to speaking!

and get Malcolm Gladwell’s book Outliers – particularly read the chapter about Latinos, it really lit a fire under me and has helped me a lot!

This little fellow has so much history from your family running through his tiny veins! How about “Legado” for the legacy he represents, as well as for the one he has yet to fulfill?

Great video! I love animals so it was great to see a new baby horse. This was timely for me as I’ve been taking lots of action, creating infoproducts and setting everything up full time, but having difficulty getting sales. It gets discouraging at times but then exciting whenever a sale is made – quite the rollercoaster!

  5. Linda Feinholz on June 2, 2009 at 6:02 pm

Maritza, how gorgeous and what fun timing – he’s entering the world right as you are entering a new stage of your own life.

I love the way his tail was contently flicking in the first half of the video – and what a beautiful star he has on his forehead!

Wish I knew Spanish – there’s got to be a fabulous word to capture joy, possibility and that fabulous intention to grow and gallop!

Incredibly beautiful – what a gift!

Nice tie in with expansion and contraction too – good lesson for all about the teaching & learning moments all around us…

    A name suggestion….here’s 2:

    MacBond or Shadowfax

    Jeff

    Will,

Thanks for your commetn – I think this is one of THE biggest issues people have when getting their online business up and running… making sales and having them be consistent. I’ll be doing a video series with Jeff Herring soon and that is ONE of the BIG topices we’ll be addressing!

There’s several different reasons for this:

    * selling from your heels – I think John Carleton coined this phrase – meaning there’s some fear and doubt involved when actually asking for the sale & people (potential customers) can smell it from a mile away!
    * our products = ourselves – you put your heart & soul into creating something of value and then in a way, unconsciously we’re selling part of ourselves which can feel strange and unknown and there’s sometimes issues of worthiness
    * focusing on why your stuff is the greatest instead of how it can specifically benefit your potential customer
    * thinking that just because you put a product up – THEY will come – kinda like that baseball movie..?

This is where resiliant persistence must prevail… like writing articles for traffic and giving great content for free and growing your business like this baby grew in it’s mommy’s belly, little by little by little…

…until a miracle happens (you birth your dreams) and then it’s like Napoleon Hill says…

“When riches begin to come they come in such abundance that you wonder where they were all this time…”

Thanks so much for talking about this HUGE issue – gives me more fire for the upcoming video series on Mindset

AND I may just become one of your customers soon, bought a fantastic acoustic guitar and one of my goals is to learn to play so I can accompany myself (I’m a singer!)

    Love,
    Maritza

How exciting to be the “adopted” mom to this baby boy “foal.” The family is growing. I listened to you share this great story and thought about being a mom myself: it normally takes 9 months to deliver a child. Sometimes with ideas and dreams it can take longer. When I heard the word “hope” I thought of naming the boy “faith” as I see both as a partnership, team or family. Whether we plant the seeds of “faith” first or of “hope” they work together–like the way “love and marriage” should work from my old-fashioned thinking head. I see the new mom and her “son” as a unit. There is always “hope” when we haven’t given up on our dreams. Some come quicker than others but “not quitting” brings results. If the mare gave up on being a mom “this boy” would not be here today. Thanks for sharing. Haven’t forgotten the horse recovering from cancer story with a more holisitc approach. Thanks for your recent precious phone talk. Now we both have new boys in our life less than a week apart: my grandson and now your horse! Congrats!

    Thanks Maritza,
Good luck with the guitar! It’s so much fun to play and learn.

I’ve been teaching with online video lessons (youtube, etc) for free and have 430,000+ views, 1400+ subscribers and an email list. I get tons of great comments and heartfelt emails from guitarists which is great followed by the usual doubt and worry (especially when I’m not doing my usual IT contracts which are quite lucrative).

I read a lot of motivational material (tony robbins, wayne dyer, eckhart tolle) which was great to get me off my butt, but I guess it’s also important to keep it going even when you take lots of action.

I did realize many mistakes like not offering enough/any products for sale, not emailing my list consistently, copyrighting on sales pages, etc which I’ve been improving over the past few months.

I feel good that I have taken a ton of action but you’re right persistence is very important.

Good luck with your new video series!

Well, you did say to push thru to see the miracle on the other side, so why not name him Milagro? (which is sp. for Miracle, for those that don’t know).

Wow, what a cool experience. Thank you for sharing the video and your underlying message along with it. I was fascinated, watching the mother watching over her baby. I like the name Legado too.

Wow that is beautiful I so envy your life with horses. I love them. What is the word ‘gift’ in spanish? That may be a good name. Or he has a star on his forehead so star may be a great name. Plus he looks exactly like Black Beauty.

Thanks you for sharing this amazing moment it really brought a smile to me. Absolutely beautiful.

    Cheers

Maritza, my son Hunter wanted to put a name forward for the beautiful horse. He would like to call him rainbow, awesome or dude!

He loved it I have played it 3 times already for him.

    Thank you for sharing.

What a wonderful video – thank you for sharing the birth of this little foal. This is my first visit to your blog (found you through Twitter) but I will be back.

As for a name – what about the Spanish word for Happy or Joy? I think the son of Hope should be something joyful. When hope comes to fruition, it is truly joyful.

    Hi Maritza,
Thank you for sharing your video. I grew up around horses and miss having them from time to time (though they’d be way too much work for me at the moment). How about a short and sweet name like PJ since you are all about that PJ empire? Or if you want to go Kentucky Derby style, you could try something like Maritza’s Midnight Pajamas (PJ for short of course) 🙂

Wish you all health and God’s blessings.

I’m reminded of one of my favorite quotes on the creation of the horse:

“I have hung happiness from the forelock which hangs between your eyes; you shall be the Lord of the other animals. Men shall follow you wherever you go; you shall be as good for pursuit as for flight; riches shall be on your back and fortune shall come through your mediation.’ Then He put on the horse the mark of glory and happiness, a white mark in the middle of the forehead.”

    Maritza,

We really like what you’ve written as the title…
    Hope Springs Eternal.

We suggest you name the foal “Eternal”, as “Hope does indeed spring Eternal!”

    Or in Spanish “Eterna”
    1. Eternal, endless, never-ending, everlasting.
    2. Durable, lasting.

(For Jeff, eternally red… like the dress 🙂 not McBond)

I just love life lessons that come from places one least expects. You really have a gift for seeing them… we appreciate you and our everlasting friendship.

    Love Pat and Lorna

    Maritza,

You spoke in another post of ‘making something of apparent past mistakes’. Then you come onto the scene like an overnight success, though we know it has taken your lifetime to get here. Thank God for that! What great gifts you bring!

How sweet, your new foal and his journey to arrive. I suggest a name of SOAR-O! (like Zorro, but picking up on your theme of Hope Springing Eternal). Another suggestion is GUSTO, coming from the Spanish phrase I love, “con mucho gusto’ and exuberance for life, which YOU surely display. I do love Legado, as suggested, but then, I’m into Legacy issues!

    Gracias por todos!
    Donna

    Maritza,

What a wealth of inspired, thoughtful and well grounded friends you have here as represented in these comments. You are truly one very blessed woman. I was going to use the word “lucky”, but we all know luck has very little to do with the soulful connection you manage to create with your audience. thanks again for sharing.

Anyway, I will be calling to set up our call together and have already ordered Malcolm Gladwell’s book Outliers from Amazon.

Can’t wait to see that little guy taking those legs on his first test run: )

    Maritza-

This morning I wrote out on paper a dream I’ve had for my life and it included a horse which I named “Baritone”. I am a singer and I guess that it follows that I should gravitate toward that choice. Another name that comes to mind is “Valor”. I think that they are both strong male names.

I hope to see the little guy’s progress. Your video and your words came at a time when I needed it. I am in that contraction point and I am not going to let this pass by and create a disappointment.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful gift!

HI Maritza, how about ‘star’? To represent the jewels of the universe and the heights we should be looking towards. “Reach for the stars!”.

    Hi Maritza,

Thanks for sharing this experience with us. The foal is so beautiful. I love the name suggested above, Milagro – Spanish for Miracle! Seems befitting to the story you shared here in your video.

What a great video. your words are just as touching. I don’t know spanish but what about the spanish word for dreams? like you said, hopes & dreams. you have hope and now also dreams.

    Dear maritza,
Thank you for sharing with us the video. It is absolutely lovely to see it and hear your inspiring metaphoric story about the birth.
That is life, simple lessons, lots of miracles and great understanding.

My suggested name is INSPIRATION. apart from perfectly matching your metaphor, I think. It is a word that represents the message you have been portraying throughout your life.

    lots of love

    amparo

  25. Gerben on June 3, 2009 at 6:44 pm

    Hi Maritza,

when I heard the word “hope” I was thinking of “faith” also, just like Carol. To my feeling hope gives birth to faith. Starting with hope, when having full faith it brings the mind into a state where one really knows that what one wants in life will come in real. That’s what I’ve learned from the Science of Getting Rich. But I still need to practice the theory 🙂
as I understand from the dictionary the spanish translation would be “Confianza”.

    wishing you all the best,

    Gerben
